13th April 2026:- A significant milestone was witnessed in Kota Kinabalu as YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor received a courtesy visit and witnessed the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) involving Sabah Oil & Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC) and its strategic partners.
The delegation was led by Chairman YB Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya, alongside Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohd Azmir Ramli, reflecting strong leadership in driving this strategic initiative forward.
This collaboration highlights strong confidence in Sabah’s potential to become a key regional energy hub, attracting high-impact investments, creating job opportunities, and strengthening downstream industries.
The proposed development at Sipitang Oil & Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP) includes LNG, ammonia, and hydrogen storage facilities, power generation projects, and supporting infrastructure—marking a major step toward sustainable and future-ready energy solutions.
With continued commitment from the State Government, Sabah is well-positioned to enhance its competitiveness in the regional oil & gas industry while delivering long-term economic growth for its people.
