E.A. Gibson Shipbrokers Ltd (Gibson) and Sabah Oil & Gas Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (SOGDC) have today signed a cooperation agreement to collaborate for the development of the Oil and Gas facilities at Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP), Sabah, Malaysia.
Witnessed by YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor, Chief Minister of Sabah, the cooperation agreement establishes a robust framework for jointly exploring investment opportunities and advancing the project within SOGIP.
The development will include the construction of a purpose-built Jetty, onshore hydrocarbon storage terminals as well as a custom-designed floating power plant. An LNG bunkering operation and LNG shuttle vessels will be included as well.
This milestone marks a crucial step forward in realizing the envisioned development at SOGIP and is expected to generate about 1600 jobs for the local economy as well as contributing to Sabah’s development.
SOGDC and Gibson have signed Memorandum of Understand (MoU) for feedstock supply with Aramco. The purpose of the mou is to set out the understanding and the principles which govern the discussion amongst sogdc-gibson and aramco which shall be carried out in good faith with the intention to enter into definitive agreement in the near future.
